Frequently asked questions

  • Does it cost to take part?

No - it’s free to take part & use Onside on your farms, thanks to our partnership with AUSVEG through VegWatch, a major biosecurity project funded by Hort Innovation using the vegetable industry research and development levy and contributions from the Australian Government.

  • Is it difficult to set up?

No, it’s pretty simple! Once you’ve filled in the 'Get started' form at the top of the page, one of our onboarding specialists will be in touch to walk you through the process. We just need a few details in order to map your site(s), organise a personalised gate sign (complete with unique QR code) and set-up some time for training staff, if you would like

  • How do I get started?

Complete the 'Get started' form at the top of this page, and one of our team will be in touch soon

  • What am I agreeing to share with AUSVEG?

By taking part of the project, you’re agreeing to sharing anonymised property movement data with AUSVEG. This means a record of the
movements on and off your properties, including property address and extra biosecurity details. The details of who made the movement is not shared with AUSVEG, unless it is in the event of a biosecurity response, with the correct legal framework to do so. AUSVEG will not share identifiable data with any third party, and the data will be stored on a secure platform. De-identified, collated data will be used to create models to assist in biosecurity response planning that improves business continuity.

  • Are there other growers using this?

Yes, we’ve had a great uptake from champion growers so far. Butler Market Gardens, Gazzola Farms, Boratto Farms, and Tripod Farmers are just a few of the farm businesses that have already joined.

  • How can I learn more, or speak to someone about this?

You can email our team at [email protected] and we'll be happy to give you some more information about this

  • How does this protect my industry?

You’ll have up-to-date and detailed digital biosecurity records, and AUSVEG will have a digital traceability dashboard to support fast and more efficient biosecurity response.
