Managing visitor health and safety briefings

We understand that your visitors need to get up to speed quickly, without foregoing health and safety compliance. The Onside app presents them with map-based risk registers to sight and accept any health and safety protocols to uphold, or site specific instructions to follow; such as wash down and sanitation procedures.

Onside makes it easy for people to review all this information on their mobile phone upon arriving at site. Simply add documents and key property information in the Onside portal, and we’ll prompt all your visitors and team members to review and accept the information you need them to.

A site sign-in system that protects your people (and their personal information)

For site managers, you can customise in-app notifications to alert you when someone has arrived or departed the property, logged an incident, or reported a hazard or risk. We recognise that, working in rural operations, many staff or contractors will be working alone. Managing the safety and wellbeing of lone workers is just one way Onside can protect rural workers and businesses.

When it comes to data collection and privacy, Onside only collects the minimum personal information to provide our service.

Onside meets the data security and storage requirements under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and Australia’s The Privacy Act 1988. You can read more about our data and privacy policy here.

Personal information will be stored for at least five years, helping you to meet health and safety record keeping obligations under New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 section 57 Requirement to keep records and Australia’s Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

A mobile visitor kiosk accessible from anywhere on the property

Adopting a virtual visitor sign in kiosk over the traditional visitor book or visitor log sheet means that if your workers are spread over a large geographical area you aren’t having to funnel them through one place to manage their sign in and sign out process.

Detouring to sign in at the site office can add more travel time to the work day, meaning less time to get on with the job. With virtual check in, your site visitors will be able to check themselves in and out, anytime of day, no matter their location – great for busy times of the year like harvest when teams are working around the clock.

Benefits of farm-specialised visitor management software

Onside was designed by agribusiness professionals, specifically for farmers, growers, and rural contractors. The unique compliance and biosecurity requirements placed on farmers, growers, and rural contractors means your average site visitor needs to understand not only basic health and safety protocols, but the correct procedures for managing biosecurity risks.

Documenting your procedures for vital compliance areas like sanitation, quarantine, exclusion areas, clean down procedures and even site hazards, can all be made easy with Onside. We present this key information in-app, so it can be viewed and revisited while on the move.

The nature of any farm, orchard, or vineyard is that the risks and hazards are changing every day. Weather events, broken equipment, straying stock – whatever the hazard, it can be logged into Onside and communicated to your users in seconds.

Site managers can also create tasks with Onside and allocate those to workers. Workers can see task locations in the Onside app, and check them off when complete. The app will automatically notify the right people of the job completion.

It also allows workers to view job locations and task lists, log task completions, and report any hazards, accidents or injuries (right down to which fence post they’re closest to) and share contact information between themselves and property managers.

With a click to submit your visitor completes their site induction and is ready to get on with the job.

A solution that fits with your business, no matter the season

Our visitor management solution is customisable, scalable and flexible. Whether you’re a 10 hectare orchard needing to onboard seasonal workers; a sheep station on the muster; a multi-block dairy farm with multiple contractors; or a forestry crew moving around different blocks – Onside can be scaled up or down/tailored by you/to suit your business’ needs.

We offer a range of subscription plans, so no matter your property size we build you a solution to suit.

How Onside’s visitor feature is helping farmers and growers

When it comes time to produce a report on site visitors, Onside has the capability to export visitor registers in a variety of formats.

Onside connects rural contractors and property managers to make sure people are in the right place, at the right time, with the right information.
