Managing your biosecurity with check-in questions

The questions you set will be requested for all sign-ins whether they’re a staff member or one-off visitor.

Using this feature, you can include detailed information about how to manage specific biosecurity risks on your property.

For example, if you’re wanting to steer clear of velvet leaf, your check-in questions can include information about what a visitor needs to do to avoid spreading it, and include a downloadable PDF detailing your entry/exit or wash down procedures.

Setting check-in rules

Every property is unique and Onside allows you to customise the information available on check-in.

Sometimes there’s key information about your property or procedures that your visitors need to know, but isn’t strictly health and safety related. That’s where check-in rules come in.

With check-in rules you can create a notification that automatically appears when they sign in; let visitors know about a key activity happening on site today like a scheduled power outage or road blockage.

Warning visitors of a dangerous event on the property can be done with a check-in rule notification.

Use check in rules to communicate essential information your property visitors will need while on site, like: parking instructions, padlock combinations, collection and delivery points.

  • Alert visitors to biosecurity incursions
  • Bring attention to recent events on the property, such as; a bridge has collapsed, a cattle stop has caved in, a tree has fallen over the road, etc.

Unwanted answers – keep risk out

Property managers can be notified via email and in-app notification when a visitor responds with an “unwanted answer”.

For example, if you wanted to know if a visitor has been inducted in the last 6 months and is aware of the biosecurity rules in place, then, if they answer “NO”, you will be notified of their answer and they will see a warning screen requesting them to contact the property manager.
