What’s new in Onside

March 2022

Add documents to your Onside profile

For some properties you visit, you may need to prove you are capable and allowed to undertake a specific job.

Fortunately, with this new feature, you can add your certifications, licences, vaccine pass, and other key documents to your profile, with the option of making them visible to others.

A boost for your biosecurity

Check-in Questions has just arrived.

Ask your visitors Yes or No questions about things like exposure events, symptoms, and anything else that’s important to you. Questions are customizable and you will get an instant alert for “unwanted answers”. This was designed to significantly improve biosecurity and COVID-19 management.

Contact us to find out more about adding this feature to your account.

Our new look Kiosk

Simple is cool”, it’s one of our core values, so we’ve upgraded the Onside Kiosk to be easier to use and ready for all the improvements we have planned for it.

Don’t have your Onside Kiosk set up yet? Click here to get started.

Improvements to Risk Management

Based on user feedback, we’ve made a few changes to Risk Management that we believe will fall more inline with the Health and Safety at Work Act and WorkSafe requirements.

The changes bring better clarity of the risk severity, urgency, and priority by providing suggestions for what should be done at each level.

Archiving risks

If you have eliminated or dismissed any risks, you can now see them from the Eliminated Risks and Dismissed Reports buttons in the risk register of your property in your Onside web portal.

When risks are dismissed, you’ll be able to see why and by whom in the archive too. The person who reported the risk will also be notified via email it has been dismissed and why.

High-risk jobs markers

A much requested improvement has been made to the admin side of our Jobs feature.

From now on, you’ll see high-risk job markers next to the job names in the admin web portal, so you’ll know which will trigger high-risk notifications when your visitors use it to check-in.

Changing jobs while checked in

If you commonly do multiple jobs on a property you’re visiting, you’ll be pleased to know you can now show this in Onside.

Tap the side menu button while checked in to change the job you’re doing. This will reflect in reporting as well as to the other visitors.

Inviting contractors and visitors just got easier

New Viticulture risk templates

We’ve heard from our users that our Viticulture risk templates in the Onside Web Portal needed a bit of an update, so that’s exactly what we’ve done.

You can find new risk templates such as; Sheep grazing, Damaged trellis, and Bird shooting. Add them to your property from the Onside Web Portal.

Help grow the Onside network

Inviting people to Onside is nothing new, Property and Company Admins have been able to do this for a long time. But what if you don’t manage a property? What if you’re a contractor?

We’ve now added a share button, available to all Onside users.

Know someone in your industry who could really benefit from using Onside? Sharing is only a couple of taps away.
Tap the side menu in the app to get sharing.

The Onside App now has a QR code scanner

Earlier this year we gave property managers the option of downloading QR codes for their properties, another quick and easy way for visitors to check-in.

We’ve heard from our users that having the QR code reader in the Onside app would also be super handy, especially for phone’s that don’t have the QR reader built in. You’ll now find the QR reader button to the right of the property search bar.

Note: Our QR code reader will only read Onside QR codes.

Contractor job lists are now available!

You or your team may have checked in to a property only to find the property manager/owner hasn’t set a list of jobs to choose from. This can be problematic if you’re checking in a group of people or you’ll be doing a high-risk job.

Good news! Company Admins of companies with Onside Teams can now set a job list for their team. This means, regardless of the property their staff check-in to, they can choose from the list set for their company in Onside.

Enable yours now. If you don’t have Onside Teams, find out more here or give us a call 1800 112334.

Sharing tasks is now a touch away

Got a task that needs doing, but your contractor hasn’t downloaded the Onside app yet? Not to worry, we have just the solution.

You can now share tasks right from the Onside app with any messaging app you have on your phone.

Your contractor will get access to all the details they need to get on with the task.

Onside Tasks is now live!

As you may have heard, we’ve been hard at work on a task feature for Onside, designed specifically for rural operations.

Onside Tasks is now available to all users via the app (update to the latest version) and the Onside Web Portal.

Give it a try for yourself, or find out more info here.

Check-in/out reminders are here!

A much sought after feature is now available to all Onside users – Check-in/out reminders.

Once enabled, when you cross a property boundary, you will receive a notification reminding you to check-in or out of the property you’re visiting.

Enable it now from the Onside app sidemenu, or click here for more details.

Check visitors out of your property, right from the app!

From time to time a visitor may forget to check-out from your property, especially if you don’t have End of Day Notifications enabled.

If you know the visitor has left, you can now check them out of your property right from the Onside app. They will also receive a notification to let them know they’ve been checked-out.

Simply tap on your property’s visitor icon from the ‘My Properties’ tab, then tap the Visitor check-out button next to their name.

Emergency plans keep getting better

With this latest addition to the Emergency plan, you’ll now be able to attach a pdf or image file, perfect for adding unique information you may have, such as evacuation procedures.

Add it now to your plan from your Onside web portal.

Visitors can advise who they're there to see

With this great new addition to the Onside Kiosk, visitors can now notify who they’re there to see.
The person will then receive an email and notification letting them know.

Enable it now from your property’s Kiosk tab on the Onside web portal.

Note: Visitors can only choose to notify staff who are part of the company in Onside.

Join a company from the Onside app

When you first register for an Onside account, you will be asked which company you work for.

If you’ve skipped over this, your company name won’t appear when checking in.

Not to worry though, you can now join an existing company or create a new one, right from the Onside app.

August 2021

Improved End of Day Notifications

Property admins will now be alerted via the Onside app to any visitors still checked in to their properties 30 minutes after the visitors’ alert (so they have time to check-out).

Company admins also have the option of receiving these alerts.

Have your Company admin activate End of Day Notifications from the Company settings in your Onside Web Portal.

Emergency plans, now with wardens

If an emergency happens on a property, it’s critical everyone knows who to report to.

We’ve now added ‘Wardens’ to the Emergency Plan to allow you to do exactly that, as well as a second first aid contact.

Update your Emergency Plan now from your Onside Web Portal.

Check-in distance now added

From time to time a visitor may check-in incorrectly. Perhaps they were just wanting to check the risks of the property before arriving, or maybe it was the wrong property all together. You can now see if your visitor was Onsite, 200m+, 1km+, or 10km away when they checked in.

Simply generate a visitor report from your Onside Web Portal to find out.

Update your Onside profile with a photo

You can now include a profile picture with your Onside account.

When you check-in to properties, this image will show in the visitor list alongside your name.

Add yours now from the sidemenu within the Onside app.

July 2021

Following up with your frequently overdue staff

With this latest improvement to our lone worker system – Onside Teams, when you look at your team’s history from the Team Locator dashboard, you’ll now see if a team member had gone overdue during their visit, and for how long.

Company Admin risk and incident notifications

Company admins can now get risk and incident notifications and emails.

With the release of this feature, as a Company Admin you can now choose to get risk and incident alerts for all of your properties, without having to be added into the team of that property. This will save you a bunch of time on account setup and changes.

Enable it from the Company Settings tab.

June 2021

Quick and easy QR codes

With QR codes now commonplace and everyone now familiar with them, you may find visitors requesting to check-in this way. Alternatively, your visitor may not have the Onside app yet and needs a quick check-in solution.

We’ve now added property specific QR codes you can download, ready to be printed out.

The visitor simply scans the code and it will take them through the check-in process including Risks and Rules.

Find your QR codes in the ‘Info’ tab of your property in the web portal.

Contactless Kiosks are now available

If you have an Onside Kiosk on your property, visitors can now scan a QR code using their phone to go through a contactless check-in.

If the visitor has the Onside app installed on their phone, it will take them directly to checking in to your property via the app.

Enable the QR code from the ‘Kiosk’ tab of your property via the web portal.
